Pantone's Colors of Spring/Summer 2015

Pantone Inc. is a company that is headquartered in New Jersey.  They are known for Pantone Matching System (PMS).  PMS is a proprietary color system used by various industries, primarily printing, though sometimes in the manufacture of colored paint, fabric, and plastics.  Pantone has become one of the cutting edge prognosticators of colors for the year ahead in fashion. And - this is a fascinating part of the story -  twice a year the company hosts a secret meeting of representatives from various nations' color standards groups at an undisclosed European city.  At the meeting this group of experts discusses, debates, and presents various colors they are forecasting for the next year. The group is focused on identifying the color that best reflects "the spirit of the time and culture."
According to Wikipedia,  "The results of the meeting are published in Pantone View ($750), which fashion designers, florists, and many other consumer-oriented companies purchase to help guide their designs and planning for future products."  Pantone's "color of the year" concept is the vision of Leatrice Eiseman, Executive Director of the Pantone Color Institute.

Pantone forecasts a Spring and Summer 2015 color story that is on the cooler and softer side of the color spectrum.  Provoking an eclectic, ethereal mix of brights that will be understated and gentle. Think nature's neutrals, day dreaming of simpler times.  This is a color palette that can provide quiet zones of soft cool hues away from hustle and bustle.

For women in 2015 Spring/Summer Pantone defines a palette that goes from Aquamarine to Marsala (their choice for color of the year).  Here are some of the specifics by color:

Aquamarine - Airy, cool, ethereal, and dreamy; pair with Classic Blue, Grey, Marsala, and Greens.
